Welcome to Lou's Red Oak BBQ Grill

Early California history and what was considered to be the traditional California barbeque from the Santa Maria Valley region of the Central Coast has always fascinated me. This style of cooking dates back to the early 1800s when California ranchers invited their friends and neighbors to barbeque over a red oak wood fire.
Following this tradition, I started my first restaurant in 1992 in Huntington Beach, California as a gathering place for friends and neighbors. I named the restaurant Lou’s Oak Oven BBQ. It had 4 tables, a 4-seat counter and an oversized brick rotisserie oven. I prepared my version of the Santa Maria BBQ using the rotisserie oven and red oak to create unique tasting menu items for my guests.
My specialties include: rotisserie roasted Tri-tip, Whole Chicken, Linguica** Sausage, Pork, Turkey, and BBQ Ribs. I also serve the traditional Santa Maria Valley Pinquinto* beans with all of the meals.

“It is our desire to continue bringing this traditional menu to all of our new friends and neighbors.”
